Yesterday I outlined the top Music 2.0 websites according to Compete. If one looks to Comscore instead, a slightly different line-up results:
Compete
========
1. Project Playlist
2. imeem
3. Last.fm
4. Pandora
5. PureVolume
Comscore
========
1. imeem
2. Pandora
3. Project Playlist
4. Last.fm
5. PureVolume
Here’s the trend:
Comscore metrics may be superior to those of Compete and others because it uses a perfectly weighted sample. OTOH, I don’t have the cash to pay for a perfectly weighted sample ; )
Similar insights here, nonetheless: Pandora continues solid growth but imeem and Project Playlist demonstrate the highest rates of growth over the last 8 months. (Not sure why Last.fm is available only since January.)
Anyone hazard a theory as to why imeem and Project Playlist have grown so quickly?
